Today, we’re thrilled to announce that Chef robots have completed 100 million servings in production at customer facilities—an order of magnitude more than all other food robotics companies combined. This is also an opportunity to reflect on why production servings are so important in food robotics, how we went from zero to eight zeros, and what happens next.

Chef’s AI-enabled robots can now automate meatpacking tasks, assembling a variety of raw, frozen, and precooked proteins such as pork loin filets, chicken breasts, lamb chops, steaks, sausage links, and bratwursts onto trays before packaging. These meatpacking tasks use Chef’s existing piece-picking capability, offering food manufacturers higher throughput, lower labor dependency, and consistent portion presentation across meatpacking and tray assembly lines.

Chef robots use AI-powered vision to detect and place ingredients on flatbreads such as tortillas, wraps, lavash, burger buns, and pizza bases. By combining large-scale trained models with adaptive placement strategies, they maintain precision and high throughput across production lines without requiring changes to existing infrastructure.
